Trellis Technologies is headquartered in Adelaide, with a second office in Sydney. The business has been operating in the “E” of ESG since 2007, helping clients track and report on their environmental footprint.
What We Do
Our software uses sophisticated AI-powered automation to read utility bills and other data to convert it into financial-grade emission footprints for Scope 1, 2, and 3 reporting. The platform delivers a bottom-up single source of truth for the entire organisation across Cost, Consumption, Energy, and Emissions.Trellis currently tracks over 28,000 facilities, allowing organisations to model progress towards Carbon Neutrality / Net Zero targets with various scenarios. We are the only 100% Australian-owned business operating at this scale. We are ISO27001:2022 Certified and Climate Active Certified.
Our team comprises over 20 colleagues with exceptional skills and capabilities, including PhDs in Marine Science, Machine Learning, and AI, as well as Climate Active Registered Consultants. We are proud of our exceptional software support and customer service to clients.
Our History
2007
We started as sustainability consultants
Trellis was founded as Balance Carbon by ESG consultants to Australia’s leading sustainability-focused organisations.
2014
We became a SaaS provider
In a mission to help our customers track their environmental data, we provided them with web access to our internal database (formerly known as C3online).
2016
We introduced Trellis
With a growing pressure on organisations to understand the connection between environmental and financial impact, as well as the need to accurately report on it – we developed the capability to produce financial grade emissions data.
Today
Beyond environmental sustainability
Trellis now enables collaboration between multiple business functions, including Finance, Procurement, and Facility and Asset Management. Its insights are helping many organisations, including business, government and not for profits to achieve their environmental and financial sustainability goals.
